How To Relieve Stress Fast: 5 Speedy Methods

Are you just in a hurry and want to effectively soothe your stress within a few minutes? You may be preparing for an exam coming up, or a work assignment due in today, and unfortunately stress can come around unpredictably and can leave you feeling very upset and anxious.

Well, don’t worry as I will give you some options into how you can relieve your stress in no time at all!


Simple Breathing Exercises


This one is very quick and easy to do if time isn’t exactly on your side; slowly inhale through your nose as deeply as you possibly can (n-not too deep to the point where you feel lightheaded though), then slowly and gently exhale through your mouth, counting from one to five while you do so.

Keep this method up for about a few minutes, and your stress and perhaps even anxiety will be reduced immensely.


Listening To Music


If you are able to, whip out your phone, plug in your buds or any other pair of headphones, and listen to your favourite tune. Chances are, your blood pressure, heart rate and, most importantly, your stress will be instantly soothed.

While you’re at it, try to closely listen to the beat of the song, the instruments of the song, and the singers of the song (if it isn’t an instrumental cover) as your mind will be more focused on the entirety of the track instead of the thing that is causing you to feel stressed.


Moving About


Again, if you are able to do this, then read on. You don’t have to run around like a loony in order to get your body rolling. Something as simple and casual as walking up and down stairs or even stretching exercises like shoulder shrugs and leg benders will allow your brain to release special chemicals to relieve you of depression, anxiety and more importantly, stress, in no time at all.


Using Stress Toys


If you regularly suffer from stress and anxiety, the perfect tool you can have on your possession is a stress toy. These can range from something as simple as a squishy toy, which come in all shapes and sizes to fit anybody, to something as fun as a fidget spinner, which usually comes in a single shape and size. If you are somebody who constantly gets overwhelmed with stress, carrying around one of these “toys” is a great way to quickly relieve stress.


Being Positive About Yourself


This one is pretty straightforward. Feeling happy and being positive about yourself is a superb thing to maintain in general instead of simply as a way to relieve any bouts of stress. Keep a journal close to you and write down all the good things going on in your life, such as important milestones or simple achievements that you made or how lucky you are to have a caring family.

You’ll find that if you regularly read through this journal if you’re feeling stressed or even just depressed and worried, you will feel a lot better about yourself and gain the confidence to go through with what you need to do.
